What you have done here is change a style. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. Changing the default size affects only new documents it doesn’t change previously created documents. The chances are, you will want this new default font to apply to all documents, to save you having to change it every time. The default size is also used as the page size whenever you create a new document in an app, such as Pages.
